DR. MILT KOBUS, a Catholic theological scholar, is our Campus Minister. Dr. Kobus organizes a year-round series of religious activities that support Leo’s Catholic heritage and give students the opportunity to live their faith.
MS. LADONNA HILL, an accomplished gospel entertainer, has provided choral and band
instruction to dozens of aspiring musicians. Leo’s annual Christmas Concert showcases
their talents and is one of the most popular events on the school calendar.
Leo’s other activities:
THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY recognizes outstanding academic
achievement and citizenship and encourages members to be of service
to others. NHS members take part in tutoring and mentoring programs
with youngsters from neighboring elementary schools. They visited
Chicago’s WGN-TV studios for a Mid-Day News broadcast this year.
They also met Vice President Joe Biden at a political rally and had
a meeting with State Sen. Ed Maloney ‘64 and State Rep. Kevin
McCarthy ’68, Leo graduates who serve in the Illinois legislature.
THE SPANISH CLUB takes students beyond the classroom environ-
ment and enriches their learning experience in a language that grows
increasingly important in a multi-cultural world.
THE PHOTOGRAPHY AND DIGITAL FILM CLUB acquaints students
with the latest in digital technology and gives them a chance to
develop skills in an ever-expanding field.
THE CHESS TEAM has become a formidable Catholic League com-
petitor in recent years, as more than a dozen Lions have embraced
a game that tests their brainpower and strategic thinking in a competitive
environment.
THE ORIOLE, Leo’s student newspaper, has been revived as an on-line
publication offering all the latest Leo news to the Leo community
