PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents,
Leo High School’s mission is consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church: to present the message of salvation proclaimed by Our Lord Jesus Christ and contained in the Gospel. Our children are a gift from a generous God, and providing them with a quality Catholic education is our goal. The world today is confusing to our young people. Leo offers a safe and supportive environment where they can make wise choices and become better human beings. At Leo, young men can develop their spiritual, intellectual, physical, social and personal objectives.
Leo Catholic High School was founded by the Irish Christian Brothers in 1926 and named after Pope Leo XIII. Throughout its history, Leo has educated young men from Chicago’s South Side neighborhoods and suburbs, many of whom have become leaders in every walk of life. Today, Leo is a high school of the Archdiocese of Chicago that affords an opportunity for a young man to grow. For 86 years the school has provided quality education and training to young men who continue to succeed in college and beyond. Through our program of spiritual formation, Leo men are given a foundation on which they can structure a life of service.
I thank the many dedicated parents and volunteers for their time and effort in providing an enriching place for Leo students. I encourage those families with high school-age young men to consider Leo as an option for your son’s high school education. Through the generosity of Leo’s Alumni Association and countless benefactors, an outstanding education rooted in God’s love is attainable for most students. A personal visit can be arranged through the school by calling Mr. Michael Holmes, Director of Admissions, at 773-224-9600, extension 212.
